Hands-On Sewing Classes at AHEM
We’re passionate about equipping the next generation of tailors and seamstresses and that starts by stitching seeds of creativity and confidence in our community. While we’re starting by launching two foundational classes, our heart is to grow a full learning journey for every age and skill level.
Teens & Adults Beginner Sewing Class
July 19th, 26th, Aug 2nd, 9th
4:30 to 6pm
Ages 12+

Project & Supplies
Work with elastic as they make their own pajama shorts or pants.
What we'll provide
Home sewing machine, machine needles & bobbins (you are welcome to bring your own!)
Patterns for projects
Friendly and professional instruction
What you'll need to bring
3 yards of 45″ wide OR 2 ¼ yards of 60″ wide cotton (or similar woven)
Matching thread
1–2 yards of 1″ wide elastic (for pajama waist)
Hand sewing needles
Sewing pins
Seam ripper
Scissors or snips
Tape measure
Fabric marker
All supplies (other than fabric & thread) can be purchased from Ahem to be available on the first day of class.
Children’s Beginner Sewing Class
July 17th, 24th, 31st, Aug 7th
5:30 to 7pm

Pillowcase + optional scrunchie or superhero mask

1 yard of cotton or similar woven fabric of choice
Matching thread ¼ yard of ½” wide elastic for scrunchie or superhero mask
